Criminal Law

This program aims to develop a knowledge of current issues in criminal justice, criminology and criminal law in Georgia, Europe and across the globe. It combines cutting-edge compulsory modules with a range of optional modules allowing students to tailor the degree to their own particular interests. The course aims to prepare judges, prosecutors, attorneys, enable the students to conduct research work, fulfil realization of gained competencies and capabilities in practice and achieve career advancement as a result of successful work.

Components provided by the educational program are led by university academic personnel, invited staff with appropriate experience and competencies.

The program aims to:

  • To provide deep and systemic knowledge in the field of criminal law;
  • To discern knowledge on the material and procedural norms of criminal law;
  • To develop efficient use of acquired knowledge in practical activity and to solve original problems in the criminal justice field, by fairly balancing the interests of the parties;
  • Develop the ability to analyze legislative innovations, modern judicial practices and scientific innovations in the field of criminal justice and rational conduct of legal activities.
